Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2026

How I collect, use and protect the personal information of clients, parents and enquirers. I take your privacy - and your child's - seriously.

Who I am

This site is run by Alexander Lajer, an integrative therapist practising in the Hampstead area and online. I am the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach me at alex@alexanderlajertherapy.com.

What I collect

I only collect what I need to offer and deliver therapy safely:

  • Enquiry details - your name, email, phone number and anything you choose to tell me when you get in touch or book a call.
  • Client records - brief, securely held notes about sessions, kept to support the work and meet my professional obligations.
  • Health and wellbeing information - relevant background you share so I can work safely. This is special category data and is treated with extra care.
  • Technical data - basic, anonymous information about how this website is used.

Why I use it & my lawful basis

I use your information to respond to enquiries, arrange and provide sessions, keep you safe, and meet the standards of my professional body. My lawful bases are legitimate interest (to respond and provide a service you've asked for), contract (delivering agreed sessions), and explicit consent for health information. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

Confidentiality & its limits

What you share in sessions is confidential. The exceptions - which I discuss openly at the start of our work - are where there is a risk of serious harm to you or someone else, a safeguarding concern about a child or vulnerable adult, or where I am required by law. Where it is safe and appropriate, I will talk to you before sharing anything.

How long I keep it

Enquiry information that doesn't lead to ongoing work is deleted within a few months. Client records are kept securely for the period required by my professional body and insurers - typically up to seven years after our work ends, and longer where a client is under 18.

Who I share it with

I do not sell your data. I share it only where necessary: with my clinical supervisor (anonymised wherever possible), with trusted service providers such as secure email and video software, and with the relevant authorities where safeguarding or the law requires it.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information I hold about you, correct it, or ask me to delete it where I'm not required to keep it. You can also object to certain uses or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, just email me.

Concerns

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. I'd always welcome the chance to put things right first.
